TÜBİTAK RUTE, as the Institute of Rail Transportation Technologies of TÜBİTAK, which operates under the Ministry of Industry and Technology, carries out research and development (R&D) activities to create globally competitive technologies, products and services in the field of rail transportation within the framework of the tasks and authorities granted by the Republic of Türkiye. In this context, it engages in R&D activities to establish new national and international collaborations, develops pioneering projects in the sector, and contributes to innovative solutions in our country's rail transportation technologies.

TÜBİTAK RUTE conducts its activities in two cities: TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus and Ankara. While the top management and R&D laboratories are located in Gebze, some projects are carried out at the TÜBİTAK Additional Building in Ankara.

TÜBİTAK RUTE was established in October 2019 based on the protocol signed with the aim of institutionalizing the R&D activities between the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) and the State Railways of the Republic of Türkiye (TCDD).

TÜBİTAK RUTE’s compensation policy is structured in accordance with the “TÜBİTAK Service Groups and Grades” guidelines established by the TÜBİTAK Presidency. Under this framework, salary payments include performance incentive bonuses (BTP), which vary by individual, as well as bonuses and overtime pay for A, B, and C staff categories.
